center surround sound speaker

 Hello everyone,
 I have a question about the center surround sound speaker.  our center speaker is sitting on the fireplace mantel while the others are placed in the ceiling I have been troubled about this for the last couple of months since it seems as if everyone else has theirs placed in the ceiling centered over the fireplace.  So today my husband called the electrician explained to him my concern he stated that normally the center speaker is placed on the mantel for a better sound  and,  that they would place it in the ceiling if we would like, but he suggested that we go to our local stereo system shop and ask the same questions about where the center speaker should be for the best sound first  .  So my question is for anyone who has the ceiling surround sound installed with the center speaker in the ceiling,   How does it sound ?    And  Do you think the sound coming straight at you when looking at the TV would make a difference.   Thanks guys for your responses I have to make a decision and call the electrician back.

Hello everyone, I know it has been a while since I posted anything but, I have been reading your post as much as possible. first I would like to congratulate Noey,Becky,mom of twins, meagan,  and CR on their closings . I probably should not have began to name people because I know I will not get everyone but forgive me I have been out of the blogging loop for a while :)   BD it wont be long now.  Becky I love the colors. I would have never attempted the stripes it looks awesome.  Thrifty Amy thanks for the tip  on the pier one coupon did not get to use it though was being lazy :).
Well there has not been much going on with the house I will post some pictures later.  lawn was finally graded and Hydroseeded not growing in as well as I would like it  in certain areas,  we have lots of crabgrass. we have hired someone to treat the lawn and he says to leave them it is too late in the season to treat them and treating it will only damage the seed that is down.   completed painting the powder room, kitchen, upstairs hallway and the guest bedroom. (will post pics).  had to call plumber, hubby was not to happy with the water pressure while using water hoses to water lawn,   plumber adjusted it and said it has something to do with the energy star rating.  still not as strong as we would like it but it will do .   well that's all I got  for now will try and post more often maybe then I will not have so much to say   SORRY!!!!!!

I just wanted to say hello to everyone it has been a while since I posted anything, but I have been reading your post almost daily. Congrats to all on your settlements. There has not been much going on with us and the house lately we finally got our driveway poured, I am not happy with it, I was expecting it to be wider. it does not hold two vehicles side by side comfortable with enough space to exit the vehicles. also we have had some rain and it seems as there is puddles forming at the bottom of the driveway already I have called the co. and left messages, no one has returned my calls yet but I do not think we should have puddles forming on a newly poured driveway.  Lawn still has not been graded company came by to take measurements but nothing done yet . As for the house Lots of nail pops,still sqeaking in several areas of hardwood, also stairs has started to squeak will be talking to PM about this other than this everything is great we Love our new home,  have not done any more decorating yet.  

Well Congrats again to everyone will try and post again soon

We got our tv mounted over the fireplace also I took a couple of shots to give you and idea of how it would look if you had the wiring ran to the lower left side of the fireplace. the picture  show  the three outlets, the little media center  and a subwoofer for the in ceiling surround sound .  Ignore the blue painters tape LOL!!!

updates and pics

Hello everyone, I pray all is well there has not ben much going on with the house still a couple of squeaky areas in the hardwood. P/M brought someone over to address this but soon after they left I noticed the squeaking again, :(  have been playing phone tag with the company due to my work schedule. hopefully we can get this settled this week since I will be home from work until Monday  YEAH!!!!!.Bannister was restained and dents in cabinets fixed on tuesday all turned out good. I have not decided on a formal dining room set yet, been looking but nothing has caught my eye yet.  So I decided before we moved into the new house I was going to step out of my boring decorating box, which consisted of all neutral beige type wall colors etc. Well let me tell you I have jumped out of the box and took off running LOL!!!!  with my paint color choices. I have chosen several darker than normal colors and I LOVE them (who would have thought). I could have went with a shade lighter in the family room but overall I still like the color. No tables,lamps or accessories in the family room yet,  besides the aqua pillows I ordered online from overstock. Could not get a good shot of the laundry room but I hope you can get and idea of the color it is called wilmington tan I love it. The color in the family room is elephant grey (sounds stinky)LOL...and the morning room/hang out room color  is called Artisan I am not sure who but I saw this color on someone else's blog in their morning room  and loved it Thanks ? :) I have been considering using this color in the powder room also.

30 Day Inspection and Updates

Hello Everyone,  It has been a while since I blogged but things have been pretty quiet in our home until yesterday's 30 Day Inspection WoW!!!!!!! P/M arrived promptly at his scheduled time at 8am along with several others. I looked out the window at approx 7:45 and there were at least five vans outside with workers awaiting the time to enter :). at 8am P/M rang door bell and introduced his entourage PLUMBER,DRYWALL WORKER, HVAC PERSON,HARDWOOD PERSON,PAINTER and  others I was really impressed the crew went over and fixed everything on our  list and then some.  there are still some unresolved issues Cabinetry person was a no-show and he is suppose to be getting in contact with us ASAP to set up a appt  to check  several indent's (lack of a better discription) we have in our cabinet doors not sure if these are normal but I do not like it. the indents are not visible from a distance. Also  heating in 4th bedroom/Loft it seems to be cold in this room all the time, HVAC person made some adjustments, I was suppose to monitor it overnight but I forgot , I was too busy with my daughter and her college room mate who are home for spring break.  So overall I think Ryan did a really good job in addressing  all of our concerns .

Other than my bedroom we have' nt  done much in the house, painted bedroom. at first I  did not like the color (thought it was too dark) but it is starting to ware on me. I guess with spring around the corner I will just brighten it up with new bright bedding. On another note I love my new bedroom set the king size bed is awesome.

I am having a hard time deciding on paint colors for the rest of the house but with Family room furniture coming next week I will have to settle on a color soon would love to have the room painted before delivery.

OK guys that's all I got.  I have been following all the blogs it is sood good to see all the new bloggers and  I get so excited When I see all the Settlement and pre settlements  CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!EVERYONE  we all deserve it.
well off to eat breakfast with my house guest  they are so much fun. will miss my daughter she will be flying back to Atlanta today vacation has to end early she has to go back to work I am so proud of her she is in her  JR  year and doing a Excellent job,   while holding a full time job

OK, enough of that I always get a little  teary eyed when I think of how Blessed my husband and I are with our beautiful three girls, all are such lovely and smart young women.

I enclosed some photos of my master bedroom still need some accessories/photos but I am taking it slow in this area I want to get the right pieces do not want things to get cluttered.  looking forward to all the new pics I really need some decorating ideas :)
  

16 days later!!!!!!

Hey everyone sorry I have been MIA for a little while but I have been BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!!!! So it has been 16 days since we moved in and I don't have much to report.We have found several more squeaky hardwood planks which are very aggravating.  loose or weak area of wood under carpet in master bedroom. also I am not sure if it just me but it seems as if the stain on my bannister is lighter on one side of the handrail.  I will be sure address these issues at our 30day inspection. Thank God so far we have not had any serious issues.   
HVAC employee came by on tues to give us a how to on the furnace. he was very nice and informative but i feel he was more interested in selling us a AC unit. :)

Anyone building a Florence I must say Thriftyamy was right on point with the temperature in the pantry. our pantry has been very cool considering the temp in the rest of the house and I guess in the summer it will be very hot :(  this is one area Ryan needs to address. 

well guys hubby is working today so I am going out to look for furniture,paint  etc  I have been having such a hard time deciding on things for the house it is so bad it took me at least 20 minutes to pick out dish towels could not decide on printed or solid.  I need help        

I'm Back

Hey gang I am so glad to be back. we are all moved in everything is going well closing was a breeze it lasted about 1/2 hour tops  :).  OK where do I start we have been in the house for 10 days now and I could not be happier. besides from unpacking the million boxes I LOVE MY NEW HOME.  P/M left us with a  big binder full of product warranties, how to forms, also forms to write down any issues we need to address during our 30  day review so far I have listed a couple of loose hardwood planks,a chip in hardwood, discolored and scratched area on island cabinet,  areas where drywall is not smooth along staircase.and what I think is the most serious is the water connection for the refrigerator leaking when it is turned on so water line cannot be hooked up to fridge until it is fixed. Hubby has been busy hanging window blinds and ceiling fans.   bedroom set will be delivered  on march 1st can't wait :) but because I love my new home I do not mind sleeping with my mattress on the floor.
So since we decided to make the morning room a sitting area to hang out and watch TV in, it has been the first room I have been trying to get organized.  I have not  decided on any paint colors yet. decorating is so much fun but since I am not rolling in the dough like I want to It will be one room at a time.  will post pics as we go.
Well looking forward to reading all the blogs I have missed these past ten days .
     

PRE-SETTLEMENT

OMG !!!!!!!!! I am so excited . I could not wait to give you all a update,  had pre settlement meeting today everything went well lasted about 2 hours P/M went over every nook and cranny  LOL,  THE HOUSE LOOKS GREAT!!!!!! all shiny and clean,  I love the Kitchen  can't believe I had doubts about the granite countertops they are GORGEOUS.  I can't explain how happy I am right now. :)  did I say THE HOUSE LOOKS GREAT (lol).
Settlement tomorrow at 9:30am  since Ido not think I will be able to sleep in my old home once I have the keys in my hand Hubby and I have decided to move in on tomorrow as soon as we leave settlement.  so pray for us we have a 5 bedroom fully furnished home to move not to mention the 5000 boxes of  clothes and shoes my 16 year old has (LOL). in the middle of a winter storm in Western NY..   movers will be moving all heavy items on Fri.  OK gang gonna say goodnight time to do my share of loading this GIGANTIC uhaul truck in my driveway,  will try and update tomorrow but I know I will be busy  

Oh thought I should enclose a photo of my future former home we have made many memories here we will miss it but  OH WELL  :).

Hello everyone,  there is nothing to report the house is done just waiting for settlement date 2/2/2011 and 2/3/2011  drove by after work on several occasions everything looks good from the outside have not been inside in over a week :(.  have been recieving lots of calls from HVAC company to schedule a demostration of system. I have called all utilities to change service address.scheduled movers and I think I may have a thousand packed boxes in the garage :).  I just feel like everything has just slowed down  :(  I know everything will pick back up next week and I will be BUSY BUSY BUSY so until them I will just wait.  This waiting thing is so hard because deep down I am so excited.
